“For as truly (verily) as I live, all the earth shall be filled with
the Glory of the LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) !” Numbers 14:21
The Lord’s work is One (ekh-awd’), and His people are to be One.
He has not directed that any one feature of the message should be carried on independently or become all-absorbing. In all His labors He united the medical missionary work with the ministry of the Word.
“How GOD anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the Devil; for GOD was with Him !”
Acts 10:38
“Hear O Israel, The LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) our God (Elohim) is One* LORD (Yehuwah) !” Deuteronomy 6:4
“I and My Father are One (ekh-awd’) !” John 10:30
ekh-awd= H259, united as one, alike, together
“And all Mine are Thine, and Thine are Mine; and I Am glorified in them. And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to Thee. Holy Father, keep through Thine Own name (Jehovah, Yehuwah – I AM THAT I AM) those whom Thou hast given Me . . . . That they may be One
(ekh-awd’), as We are One !” John 17:10-11
“That they all may be One, as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be One* in Us: so that the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me !” John 17:21
He sent out the twelve apostles, and afterward the seventy, to preach the gospel (Glad Tidings) to the people, and He gave them power also to heal the sick and to cast out devils in His name. Thus should the Lord’s messengers enter
His work today.
Today the message comes to us: “As My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you. And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Spirit.” John 20:21-22.
“These all continued with One accord in prayer (worship) and supplication (petition, request), with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus (Yehushua), and with His brethren. . . . .And when the day of Pentecost (the feast of Weeks, ref: Leviticus 23:15-17) was fully come, they were all with One accord in one place.
And suddenly (ref: Malachi 3:1-3) there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind (ref: John 3:8), and It filled all the house where they were sitting . . . . And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit!” Acts 1:14 & 2:1-4
Satan will invent every possible scheme to separate those whom God is seeking to make One. But we must not be misled by his devices. If the medical missionary work is carried on as a part of the gospel, worldlings will see the good that is being done; they will be convicted of its genuineness and will give it their support.
We are nearing the end of this earth’s history, and God calls upon all to lift the standard bearing the inscription: “Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” He calls upon His people to work in perfect harmony.
“Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth ?” Luke 18:8
Note: Is it possible that each and every healing, every deliverance from Satan’s power, every miracle, every captive that was set free, and every work of righteousness, which the apostles of our Lord (Adoni – Sovereign King) did, was done by faith ? And if so, then how do we also receive this faith of the saints ?
“Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of Almighty GOD !” Romans 10:17
Note: As the Latter Rain of the Holy Spirit is pour out upon this world . . . for the Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are Life . . . . will each of us have the faith to take GOD at His Word and do those works which glorify His holy name ?
“And what shall I more say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets (those who spoke under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit). Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained Promises, stopped the mouths of lions. Quenched the violence of fire (ref: Isaiah 43:2), escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed (grew) valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
Women received their dead raised to life again (ref: I Kings 17:9-24, II Kings 4:8-37 & Luke 7:11-16): and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection!” Hebrews 11:32-35
He calls upon those engaged in our medical work to unite with the ministry; He calls upon the ministry to co-operate with the medical missionary workers; and He calls upon the church (congregation) to take up their appointed duty, holding up the standard of true reform in their own territory, leaving the trained and experienced workers to press on into new fields. No word is to be spoken to discourage any, for this grieves the heart of Christ and greatly pleases the adversary (Satan).
All need to be baptized with the Holy Spirit; all should refrain from censuring and disparaging remarks, and draw near to Christ, that they may appreciate the heavy responsibilities which the co-workers with Him are carrying. “Press together; press together,” are the Words of our Divine Instructor. Unity is strength; disunion is weakness and defeat. – 6 Testimonies p.292
“He sent out the twelve apostles, and afterward the seventy, to preach the gospel to the people, and He gave them power also to heal the sick and to cast out devils in His name. Thus should the Lord’s messengers enter His work today ! Today the message comes to us: “As My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you. And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Spirit.” John 20:21-22.
“Satan will go to the extent of his power to harass, tempt, and mislead God’s people. He who dared to face, and tempt, and taunt our Lord (Jesus Christ), and who had power to take Him in his arms and carry Him to a pinnacle of the temple, and up into an exceedingly high mountain, will exercise his power to a wonderful degree upon the present generation, who are far inferior in wisdom to their Lord, and who are almost wholly ignorant of Satan’s subtlety and strength.
In a marvelous manner will he affect the bodies of those who are naturally inclined to do his bidding. Satan exults that he is regarded as a fiction. When he is made light of, and represented by some childish illustration, or as some animal, it suits him well. He is thought so inferior that the minds of men are wholly unprepared for his wisely laid plans, and he almost always succeeds well.
If his power and subtlety were understood, many would be prepared to successfully resist him. All should understand that Satan was once an exalted angel. His rebellion shut him out of heaven, but did not destroy his powers and make him a beast. Since his fall he has turned his mighty strength against the government of heaven. He has been growing more artful, and has learned the most successful manner in which to come to the children of men with his temptations.” – 1 Testimonies p.342
“Fallen man is Satan’s lawful captive. The mission of Christ was to rescue him from the power of His great adversary. Man is naturally inclined to follow Satan’s suggestions, and he cannot successfully resist so terrible a foe unless Christ, the mighty Conqueror, dwells in him, guiding his desires, and giving him strength. God alone can limit the power of Satan. He is going to and fro in the earth, and walking up and down in it. He is not off his watch for a single moment, through fear of losing an opportunity to destroy souls. It is important that God’s people understand this, that they may escape his snares. Satan is preparing his deceptions, that in his last campaign against the people of God they may not understand that it is he . . . .” – 1 Testimonies p.341
“The period of Christ’s personal ministry among men was the time of greatest activity for the forces of the kingdom of darkness. For ages Satan with his evil angels had been seeking to control the bodies and the souls of men, to bring upon them sin and suffering; then he had charged all this misery upon God.
Jesus was revealing to men the character of God (Let this mind be in you, which was in Christ Jesus).
He was breaking Satan’s power, and setting his captives free. New life and love and power from heaven were moving upon the hearts of men, and the prince of evil was aroused to contend for the supremacy of his kingdom. Satan summoned all his forces, and at every step contested the work of Christ.
So it will be in the great final conflict of the controversy between righteousness and sin. While new life and light and power are descending from on high upon the disciples of Christ, a new life is springing up from beneath, and energizing the agencies of Satan. Intensity is taking possession of every earthly element. With a subtlety gained through centuries of conflict, the prince of evil works under a disguise. He appears clothed as an angel of light, and multitudes are “giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” I Timothy 4:1
In the days of Christ the leaders and teachers of Israel were powerless to resist the work of Satan. They were
neglecting the only means by which they could have withstood evil spirits. It was by the Word of God that Christ
overcame the wicked one ! . . .
When once the restraints of God’s Word and His Spirit are rejected, no man knows to what depths of degradation he may sink. Secret sin or master passion may hold him a captive as helpless as was the demoniac of Capernaum. Yet his condition is not hopeless !
The means by which we can overcome the wicked one is that by which Christ overcame,– the power of the Word. God does not control our minds without our consent; but if we desire to know and to do His will, His Promises are ours:
“Ye shall know the Truth . . . Thy Word is Truth . . . and the Truth shall make you free.” “If any man willeth to do His will, he shall know of the teaching.”
John 8:32; 7:17 & 17:17
Through faith in these Promises, every man may be delivered from the snares of error and the control of sin . . . .” Desire of Ages p.258-259
“They should entreat those who have had a religious experience, and who have faith in the Promises of God, to plead with the mighty Deliverer in their behalf. It will be a close conflict (a battle). Satan will reinforce his evil angels who have controlled these persons; but if the saints of God with deep humility fast and pray, their prayers will prevail ! Jesus will commission holy angels to resist Satan, and he will be driven back and his power broken from off the afflicted ones. “And He said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.” Mark 9:29. – 1 Testimonies p.343
“. . . I saw evil angels contending for souls, and angels of God resisting them. The conflict was severe. Evil angels were corrupting the atmosphere with their poisonous influence, and crowding about these souls to stupefy their sensibilities. Holy angels were anxiously watching and waiting to drive back Satan’s host. But it is not the work of good angels to control the minds of men against their will. If they yield to the enemy, and make no effort to resist him, then the angels of God can do but little more than hold in check the host of Satan, that they shall not destroy, until further Light be given to those in peril, to move them to arouse and look to heaven for Help. Jesus will not commission holy angels to extricate those who make no effort to help themselves.
If Satan sees that he is in danger of losing one soul, he will exert himself to the utmost to keep that one. And when the individual is aroused to his danger, and, with distress and fervor, looks to Jesus for strength, Satan fears that he will lose a captive, and he calls a reinforcement of his angels to hedge in the poor soul, and form a wall of darkness (doubt, fear and unbelief) around him, that heaven’s Light may not reach him.
“Thy Word is a Lamp unto my feet, and a Light unto my path !” Psalm 119:105
“Arise and shine, for thy Light is come; and the glory of the LORD (Yehuwah) is risen upon thee !” Isaiah 60:1
“For if our gospel (Glad Tidings) be hid, it is hid to them who are lost, in whom the god of this world hath
blinded the minds of which believe not, lest the Light of the glorious gospel of Christ, Who is the image (exact likeness) of GOD, should shine unto them . . . . For GOD (Yehuwah) Who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light (revealing) of the knowledge (knowing) of the glory of GOD in the face of Jesus Christ (Yehushua ha Moshiac) !”
II Corinthians 4:3-6
But if the one in danger perseveres, and in his helplessness casts himself upon the merits (worthiness) of the blood of Christ, our Saviour listens to the earnest prayer of faith, and sends a reinforcement of those angels that excel in strength to deliver him.
Satan cannot endure to have his powerful rival appealed to, for he fears and trembles before His strength and majesty. At the sound of fervent prayer, Satan’s whole host trembles. He continues to call legions of evil angels to accomplish his object. And when angels, all-powerful, clothed with the armory of heaven, come to the help of the fainting, pursued soul, Satan and his host fall back, well knowing that their battle is lost. The willing subjects of Satan are faithful, active, and united in one object. And although they hate and war with one another, yet they improve every opportunity to advance their common interest. But the great Commander in heaven and earth has limited Satan’s power. – 1 Testimonies p.345
“Some, I was shown, gratify their curiosity and tamper with the devil. They have no real faith in spiritualism and would start back with horror at the idea of being mediums. Yet they venture and place themselves in a position where Satan can exercise his power upon them. Such do not mean to enter deep into this work, but they know not what they are doing. They are venturing on the devil’s ground and are tempting him to control them. This powerful destroyer considers them his lawful prey and exercises his power upon them, and that against their will. When they wish to control themselves they cannot. They yielded their minds to Satan, and he will not release his claims, but holds them captive. No power can deliver the ensnared soul but the power of God in answer to the earnest prayers of His faithful followers.”
– 1 Testimonies p299
“Jesus did not consider heaven a place to be desired while we were lost. He left the heavenly courts for a life of reproach and insult, and a death of shame. He Who was rich in heaven’s priceless Treasure became poor, that through His poverty we might be rich. We are to follow in the path He trod !
“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that ye may know (by experience) what is the hope of His calling, and what is the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His Mighty power. Which he wrought
in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His Own right hand in the heavens ! . . .”
Ephesians 1:17-21
And “that He would grant you, according to the riches of His Glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man. That Christ (The Anointed One, the Anointing) may dwell in your hearts by faith . . . .”
Ephesians 3:16
“Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience, and longsuffering with joyfulness. Giving thanks unto The Father . . . enter His courts with praise and thanksgiving . . . which hath made us meet (worthy – through the merits of Christ Jesus) to be partakers of the Inheritance of the saints in Light!” Colossians 1:11-12 & Psalm 100:4
“To whom GOD (Jehovah, Yehuwah Elohim) would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the Hope of glory !” Colossians 1:27
He who becomes a child of God should henceforth look upon himself as a link in the chain let down to save the world, one with Christ in His plan of mercy, going forth with Him to seek and save the lost.
Many feel that it would be a great privilege to visit the scenes of Christ’s life on earth, to walk where He trod, to look upon the lake beside which He loved to teach, and the hills and valleys on which His eyes so often rested. But we need not go to Nazareth, to Capernaum, or to Bethany, in order to walk in the steps of Jesus.
We shall find His footprints beside the sickbed, in the hovels of poverty, in the crowded alleys of the great cities, and in every place where there are human hearts in need of consolation.
We are to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and comfort the suffering and afflicted. We are to minister to the despairing, and to inspire hope in the hopeless. The love of Christ, manifested in unselfish ministry (service), will be more effective in reforming the evildoer than will the sword or the court of justice . . . .
The missionary can not only relieve physical maladies, but he can lead the sinner to the Great Physician, Who can cleanse the soul from the leprosy of sin.
Through His servants, God designs that the sick, the unfortunate, and those possessed of evil spirits shall hear His Voice. Through His human agencies He desires to be a Comforter such as the world knows not. – Ministry of Healing p.105-106
Christ was strong to save the whole world. He wanted all ! He could not endure the thought that one should be lost. He wept at the grave of Lazarus, that He could not save every one whom Satan’s power had laid low in death. He had given Himself a ransom for many, even all who would avail themselves of the privilege of coming back to their loyalty to GOD (Jehovah, Yehuwah). John, pointing to Him, had said, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world !” John 1:29.
And in all this conflict with the powers of evil, there was ever before Christ the darkened shadow into which He Himself must enter. Ever before Him was the price which He must pay for the ransom of these souls.
As He witnessed the sufferings of the human race, He knew that He must bear a greater pain, mingled with mockery; that He must suffer the greatest humiliation. When He raised Lazarus from the dead, He knew that for that life He must pay the ransom on the cross of Calvary. Every rescue made was to cause Him the deepest humiliation. He was to taste death for every man . . . !” – Youth Instructor, December 29, 1898
“In all their affliction, He was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence (Face, Countenance, Shewbread) saved them. In His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bare them, and carried them all the days of old!” Isaiah 63:9
“For He hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of GOD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) in Him !” II Corinthians 5:21
“For it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He hath put Him to grief: when Thou shalt make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed (children), He shall prolong His days . . . . He shall see the travail of His soul, and be satisfied . . . !” Isaiah 53:10-11
“We must humble self, today, tomorrow, and constantly. With a willing, sanctified heart (set apart from the world for a holy purpose), we must cooperate with God. We are living in the time when Satan has come down in great power. He is walking about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
But the Lord is ready to take away the sin that hinders us from yoking up with Christ. If we wear the yoke of Christ (are joined unto Him), He will be our Immanuel, – “God with us” supplying every weakness with His strength, every inefficiency with His power and success. But if we take glory to ourselves, He removes His excellency (His glory) from us, and we no longer ride prosperously.
Take up the stones, (break up the fallow ground – ref: Jeremiah 4:3 & Hosea 10:12) remove the rubbish from your hearts. Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. God’s servants need constantly to lay hold with one hand of souls ready to perish, while with the hand of faiththey lay hold of the throne of God.
Souls possessed with evil spirits will present themselves before us. We must cultivate the spirit of earnest prayer, mingled with genuine faith to save them from ruin, and this will confirm our faith. God designs that the sick, the unfortunate, those possessed with evil spirits, shall hear His Voice through us.
Through his human agentsHe desires to be a Comforter such as the world has never before seen. His Words are to be voiced by his followers: “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye believe in God, believe also in Me !”
Spaulding Magan Collection p.89
May the LORD (Yehuwah) bless each of us and our families with the gift of knowing Him personally, and in knowing His great love for us, and all those perishing around us. And may we with the apostle Paul know Him, and the power of His might in our lives, to seek and to save those who are yet lost !
