In John chapter 8, Jesus has given each of us this great assurance . . . “Ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall set you free !” Yet today, we see thousands of professed children of God struggling in the bondage of sin. So how do we take hold of this promise, and make it our very own?
Jesus goes on to say, “the Devil is a liar, and the father (source) of all lies.” So here is where the battle begins . . .
First, you must know above all else, who you are in Christ Jesus . . . . “Chosen in Him before the very foundations of this world.” Ephesians 1:1-4 and “complete in Him, who is the Head of all principalities and powers !” Colossians 2:10
And “in Whom you also are (present tense) circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ (when He died unto sin – Romans 6:10 and 6:1-6 — you also died with Him, and in Him) !” Colossians 2:11-12
Today . . . “you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God !” Colossians 3:3
and because you believe God’s Word, and know that He cannot lie . . . “sin does not have any more dominion over you !” Romans 6:11-14
“For greater is He that is in us, than he which is in this world !” I John 4:4
Quote –
“Man is poisoned by sin; but a remedy has been provided for the fallen race in the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world . . . . “He has borne our sins in His own body upon that tree !” I Peter 2:24 and II Corinthians 5:21
“The LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all . . . !” Isaiah 53:4-12
And our Mighty Redeemer last words as He hung on Calvary was . . . “IT IS FINISHED (paid in full) !” and when He was raised again on that glorious morning of the third day, He shook off the dust of that darkened tomb, and looking back in triumph He cried . . . . “O death where is thy sting (poison), O grave, where is thy victory !”
I Corinthians 15:55
And you were “in Him” when He spoke these Words of Life . . . “O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself, but in Me is thine help. Yea, I will be thy King (Matthew 28:18-19), for where is any other that may SAVE thee in all of thy cities? I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction, and repentance shall be hid from Mine eyes (I will not change My mind !” Hosea 13:9-14
Every hope that we have of Salvation* (deliverance, freedom, healing) outside of Christ is a vain hope.
We cannot dishonor our Saviour more than by doubting that He will save us. Whatever may have been our life of transgression, however deep may be the stain of our sin, there is One Who is able* (full of power) to save to the uttermost all that come unto God by Him. ref: Isaiah 45:22-25
Jesus is the remedy for sin. We may have intellect, but human intelligence can devise no way of salvation; we may have earthly possessions, but that will not provide a ransom for the sin of our soul. Salvation (deliverance, freedom, healing) is the gift of God through (in) Christ, and the promise is, “Whosoever believeth on Him (the promise, the Word of God) shall not perish, but have eternal Life.”
– Signs of the times, March 10, 1890
“For this is the record (evidence, witness) that God hath given unto us eternal Life, and this Life is in His Son !” I John 5:11
And quoting from that promise which our Lord (Sovereign King) and Saviour later spoke to Nicodemus, we read . . . . “Look unto Me, and be ye SAVED* (rescued, delivered, set free, healed and made whole), all the ends of the earth: for I Am God (Elohim – the Mighty One), and there is none else.
For I have sworn by Myself, yea, the Word is gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return unto Me void, that . . . . In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel (children of faith – Galatians 3:6-7) be justified,* and shall glory . . . !”
Isaiah 45:22-25 and ref: I Corinthians 1:29-31
Thank your Father in heaven outloud each day for giving you the victory through (in) your Saviour Jesus Christ. Then surrender your heart, your soul, your mind and body as His temple . . . knowing that you are verily His both by creation, and by redemption. And that “He is faithful Who hath promised !”
“According as His divine power hath given unto us _______ (your name) ALL THINGS that pertain unto Life and godliness . . . through the knowing of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue . . . !” II Peter 1:3-4 and John 17:3
“Who are kept by the power* of God (Theos – Deity, divinity) through faith unto Salvation* (freedom, liberty, rescue, healing and restoration), ready to be revealed in this last time !” I Peter 1:5
Quote –
“When the soul surrenders itself to Christ, a new power takes possession of the new heart. A change is wrought which man can never accomplish for himself. It is a supernatural work, bringing a supernatural element into human nature. The soul that is yielded to Christ becomes His Own fortress, which He holds in a revolted world, and He intends that no authority shall be known in it but His own. A soul thus kept in possession by the heavenly agencies is impregnable to the assaults of Satan.”

“Henceforward Christ’s followers were to look upon Satan as a conquered foe. Upon the cross, Jesus was to gain the victory for them; that victory He desired (desires) them to accept as their own. “Behold,” He said (says), “I give unto you _______ (your name) power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you !” Luke 10:19
The omnipotent power of the Holy Spirit is the defense of every contrite soul. Not one that in penitence and faith has claimed His protection will Christ permit to pass under the enemy’s power. The Saviour is by the side of His tempted and tried ones.
With Him there can be no such thing as failure, loss, impossibility, or defeat; we can do all things through Him who strengthens us. When temptations and trials come, do not wait to adjust all the difficulties, but look to Jesus, your helper.
There are Christians who think and speak altogether too much about the power of Satan. They think of their adversary, they pray about him, they talk about him, and he looms up greater and greater in their imagination. It is true that Satan is a powerful being; but, thank God, we have a Mighty Saviour, Who cast out the evil one from heaven – Luke 10:17-19). Satan is pleased when we magnify his power. Why not talk of Jesus? Why not magnify His power and His love?”
